Ma'ariv Bridge

TAMAR Group led the demolition of the Ma’ariv Bridge, one of the most complex urban demolition projects ever carried out in Israel. Located in a densely built area surrounded by shops, vehicles, and critical infrastructure, the operation required exceptional precision to avoid environmental damage.

Due to strict constraints, only 25 kg of explosives were used. The bridge columns were pre-cut to weaken them structurally, enabling a soft, controlled collapse. Charges were placed in 70 cm boreholes and detonated in half-second intervals, bringing down the bridge in under five seconds.

To protect underground infrastructure—especially water lines—sand mounds were used to absorb impact, and the area was secured with nets and debris catchers to contain fragments.

The operation was completed safely, without damage, and within the planned timeframe. The site was quickly cleared for ongoing infrastructure work.
